Tour of The Malt House, Stradbally, Co. Laois in association with Historic Houses of Ireland

The Malt House in Stradbally is located on a site where corn milling was first recorded in 1594. The oldest corn mill buildings on the property date from 1732 with the malting kilns and manager’s house added around 1890. The latter have since been meticulously renovated as residential accommodation and a stunning event space.

Owner Glenn will be giving a free tour of the complex at 2 pm on Saturday, August 15th to celebrate Heritage Open Doors Day.

The Malt House is a proud member of Historic Houses of Ireland and was one of three finalists in the 2026 Castleacre-Historic Houses of Ireland Heritage Awards, which celebrate outstanding commitment to preservation, innovation, and community engagement.

Suitable for families.

Gravel paths may be difficult for wheelchair users.
