Tour of Giant's Ring and Ballynahatty Prehistoric Ritual Landscape

Join QUB Archaeologists Barrie Hartwell and Brian Sloan on a walk and talk of one of Ulster's premium Prehistoric Landscapes! Located on the southern limits of Belfast City, Ballynahatty is renowned for the large henge monument known as the Giants Ring. However, excavations in the 1990s and more recently in June 2026 have revealed this landscape to be packed with archaeological remains and show it to be a focus of mortuary activity in the Neolithic and Bronze Ages.
