Three unique Westmeath archive collections and their digitisation
Martin Fagan former Archivist at Strokestown House, will discuss a project currently underway to digitise material from three private collections held by Westmeath Libraries. These collections include Late 18th – 20th Century material relating to the
Clibborn family, one of the principal Quaker families that settled in Moate during the Cromwellian Plantation. Also being digitised are a Late 18th – early 19th century book of maps of lands of Thomas Nugent of Dunore, Co Westmeath and an illustrated book entitled Insects at Lincoln Jail that was compiled by Sean Milroy during his imprisonment in Lincoln Jail for his involvement in the 1916 rising.
