Jennifer Hardy’s soundscape and film installation explores emigration from County Donegal through memory and lived experience. Moving between forest, bogland, seascape, and city, the work traces the forces that have shaped emigration from the region, both historically and today.
Interviews with an ecologist, psychologist, historian, and Donegal emigrants are woven into a soundscape alongside film of Donegal’s landscapes and cityscapes, creating a layered reflection on migration, belonging, and the enduring connections between people and place.
Jennifer Hardy is an Irish composer, sound designer, and musician who creates immersive sonic worlds that explore the human experience. Her work weaves organic textures with electronic elements, transforming sound into an emotional architecture that guides audiences through story, memory, and feeling.
Her work has been supported by Creative Ireland and Donegal County Council.
