Protecting a living ecosystem:
Our facilitators, an environmentalist and NPWS ecologist will discuss the ecological importance of the Shannon Estuary Special Area of Conservation (SAC), flora and fauna and the need to protect its habitats, species and ecological integrity from further impacts/risks.
We will explore how advancing the Rights of Nature can strengthen conservation, environmental governance and long-term stewardship.

Please wear weather-appropriate clothing. We also recommend bringing drinking water and, if desired, a camera or binoculars.
Unfortunately, the area is not suitable for wheelchair users.
