The Flow of Life
An exhibition and videos showing how Lough Talt and its associated rivers and streams have flowed through our history enabling our local communities to exist. We look at the lake in present times, we use it for leisure, but it also protects endangered aquatic life. In early human existance it provided food , water, protection and fuel. Later on it was the means of livelihoods. Water mills ground grain, processed wool and flax. Towns sprang up at river crossings. We provide a little knowledge on all these things to show that this place is more than just a nice area to walk in.
