The Edwardian Postcards of West Wicklow

Join us for an illustrated talk titled "The Edwardian Postcards of West Wicklow" presented by John Armstrong at Dunlavin Library on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 8 PM.

During the 'Golden Age' of postcards, from 1905 to 1914, the sending and collecting of postcards became incredibly popular. In this talk, John will focus on this period and use postcards from his collection to showcase what the towns and villages of West Wicklow looked like at that time.

We will embark on a journey from Blessington to Poulaphouca, continuing on to Dunlavin, Baltinglass, and other nearby destinations. The talk will also provide a brief history of postcards and postcard collecting from a local West Wicklow perspective.
