  • Co. Tipperary

The Darby Ryan International Poetry Contest honours the memory and literary legacy of Darby Ryan, one of Tipperary's most celebrated poets and songwriters. Established to encourage and showcase poetic talent, the contest has attracted entries from many countries and has become an important event in the cultural calendar.

The Final Selection Evening will feature readings of the shortlisted poems, celebrating the creativity, imagination and diversity of voices that have emerged from this year's competition. Set against the unique atmosphere of the beautiful Templeneiry Old Church, the event promises an inspiring evening of literature, reflection and community.

Adding to the occasion, the programme will also include the Final of the Tipperary International Song of Peace, bringing together music and poetry in a shared celebration of peace, understanding and human connection.

This special evening offers an opportunity for writers, artists, supporters of the arts and members of the wider community to come together in a setting rich in heritage and tradition.

The event is proudly sponsored by Tipperary Credit Union, whose continued support helps foster creativity and cultural expression within our communities.
