The City of the Crosses – a walk through time in Kilfenora

A guided walk through the ancient village of Kilfenora looking at its social history.

As well as possessing a significant religious and musical heritage, Kilfenora was formerly a busy commercial centre with three bakers, a hardware store, a police barracks, numerous pubs and more besides. (Kilfenora still has a range of shops and businesses.) Guide Stephen Hegarty, with the help of other local residents, aims to bring ‘Old Kilfenora’ to life through conversations while walking around the village.

Please gather first in the Kilfenora Ceili Band exhibition room inside the Centre by 2pm, after which the group will process from the Lisdoonvarna road through the Square and down main street, and finish inside Kilfenora Cathedral.
