The barn owl population in Ireland is scarce and declining. While the species is classified as "Least Concern" globally, it's a "Red-listed" species of conservation concern in Ireland due to habitat loss and other factors. Efforts are underway to protect and restore barn owl populations through habitat management, nest box provision, and awareness campaigns.
