The Rock of Dunamase is one of the most striking heritage sites in Ireland. It has a complex history from Gaelic stronghold to Viking raids and Anglo-Norman conquest. The site itself dominates the surrounding landscape, which has contributed to its significance in the past and the present.
Colm Flynn from Horizon Archaeology will present an overview of the recent archaeological excavations carried out during the development of the new carpark at the Rock of Dunamase, and what the findings reveal about the site.
