Talk at Brownshill Dolmen Carlow

15 August, 12pm - 12:30pm

  • Brownshill Dolmen
  • Hacketstown Road, Carlow.
  • Co. Carlow

Brownshill Dolmen is a megalithic portal tomb that predates Newgrange, Stonehenge and the Great Pyramids of Egypt. The capstone is the largest in Europe, weighing in at over 100 tonnes. It was used for burial rituals and ceremonies and is the earliest form of engineering prowess by our settled ancestors. The talk will take place at the Dolmen along with visual aids and materials.

There is a 500m walk up to the Dolmen from the carpark.
