St. Carthage's Cathedral, Lismore will be hosting a Sustainable Flower Festival "Nature and Heritage" opening on August 22nd at 2pm and running 23rd - 24th. 10am - 5pm. Admission €10.
50 Floral artists will be exhibiting and filling the beautiful Cathedral with flowers and scents. All the flowers will have been grown in Ireland and no floral foam (oasis) is allowed, hence the word "sustainable".
On Friday 22nd August there will be a demonstration by James Burnside and Alan Beatty "The Challenge of Change" at Lismore Heritage Centre, (P51TP26) 8pm-10pm. Tickets €25 Eventbrite.ie
On Saturday 23rd August a Summer Floral Workshop by Vivienne Brophy 10.am-12.30pm in The Red Hall, East Main Street. Lismore (P51T9K0)Tickets €65 Eventbrite.ie. Booking essential for both events.
There will be refreshments available and plant stalls.
All donations will be in aid of the conservation and restoration of St Carthage's Cathedral which is in need of safer access, toilets, glass doors and repairs resulting from water ingress in the West Wall.
We can host wheelchairs , but they will need help. People who are visualy impaired will need to be escorted. There will be stewards at hand.
