  • St Patrick's Cathedral
  • Skibbereen
  • P81 X785
  • Co. Cork County

St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Skibbereen is a gem of neo-classical architecture in West Cork and for two hundred years has been at the nexus of life in this beautiful corner of Ireland. To mark its bicentenary, and celebrate its story, a talk will take place from 7-8pm on Monday August 17th.

You can expect to learn about the building’s interesting origins as well as some of the individuals who were instrumental in its construction and development. You will also be introduced to some of its treasures and some of the features that make this such a special place to visit.

This is the third in a series of ‘Heritage Week’ talks on St. Patrick’s Cathedral by Con Hurley and will build on the stories told since the first talk in August 2024 and will complement the soon to be published ‘St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Skibbereen 1826 – 2026, A History’.
