Liscannor St Bridgets Well

St Bridget's Well Project with Colum Walsh, Community Water Officer

21 August, 3pm - 4pm

  • St. Bridgets Well
  • Liscannor, County Clare
  • Co. Clare

St. Brigid's Well in Liscannor reminds us of the deep connection between people, place, and water, inspiring us to care for our local waterways. We can help heal and protect these vital resources by working together across the landscape, with farmers, and within our own households.

Landscape measures such as restoring wetlands, fencing and planting riparian buffer zones, reducing chemical inputs, improving soil health, and managing runoff to keep streams and rivers clean. At home, simple actions such as reducing water waste, avoiding harmful chemicals, maintaining septic systems, and planting rain gardens can all contribute to healthier waterways. By combining these efforts, we can restore the health of our rivers, streams, and wells, ensuring clean water for nature, our communities, and future generations.

This talk will be presented by Colum Walsh Community Water Officer for Clare and Limerick with the River Basin Management Service (Formally LAWPRO)
