National Heritage Week, Singing Walks as Gaeilge – Douglas brings people of all ages together for five gentle outdoor walk shaped by song, place and shared attention to the rich biodiversity heritage in the area. We follow short, accessible routes through Douglas Community Park and adjacent Ballybrack Woods/Mangala, pausing to listen, sing and reflect.
Led by multimedia artist Mícheál Ó Catháin, with Community Partner Douglas Community Association, the walks use simple Irish-language singing, easy drone-based harmonies and local place-names as Gaeilge. Suitable for complete beginners, shower-singers and fluent Gaeilgeoirí alike. Under 18's welcome with parent or legal guardian.
Meeting point for all walks is Douglas Community Park, outside the Community Centre. Walks are free to attend, with advanced booking required - online booking details below!
Also feel free to call into Douglas Community Centre (021-489 4955, Mon-Fri 0900-1200) to sign up in person.
