Step back into Thurles during the turbulent year of 1921 and discover the stories behind a series of midnight shootings that took place in the town during the War of Independence.
Join us for a fascinating 90-minute historical walk, exploring the people, places and events that lie behind these hidden chapters of Thurles's past.
The event is weather related as it is outdoors and may be canceled at short notice if the weather is to extreme. Please wear comfortable clothing and footwear as we will be walking around the streets of Thurles. The route is mainly flat and is wheelchair and walking aids friendly. The event will start and finish at the Munster Hotel Carpark, Cathedral Street, Thurles. Participants can exit the walk at any stage of the event if needed. There are a number of carparks around the town, please beware that these carparks are pay meters, some of these takes the coins and some are card swipe or online payment.
