Seagrass: The Hidden Life Beneath Our Shores – Film Screening

Join Sea Synergy for a free public screening of Seagrass: The Hidden Life Beneath Our Shores, a thought-provoking short documentary exploring one of Ireland's most important yet often overlooked marine habitats. The screening takes place at 5:00 pm in the ACARD Building, The Marina, Cahersiveen, and is open to everyone.

Produced by Zero Waste Alliance Ireland and directed by Órla Coutin Fitzsimons, the film highlights the vital role seagrass meadows play in supporting marine biodiversity, improving water quality, storing carbon and protecting our coastlines.

Following the screening, attendees are invited to stay for an engaging discussion on the importance of seagrass conservation and the challenges and opportunities for protecting these valuable habitats in Ireland. Sea Synergy and BEAG – Ballinskelligs Tidy Towns will also present their Seascape Project along the Iveragh Peninsula coastline, showcasing ongoing community-led initiatives focused on mapping, monitoring and raising awareness of local seagrass meadows and their importance to healthy coastal ecosystems.
