Coastwatch Seagrass Heritage Day Event

This Coastwatch Seagrass event is taking place on Achill Island in a seagrass rich area. It looks at the many values of seagrass, including as a nursery, feeding, and hiding area for many commercial fish and shellfish species. We are discussing present seagrass health and protection, law, and how to improve future monitoring, management, and protection of stocks. The panel discussion will include fishermen, authorities, environmental groups, and recreational users.
