Screening of Cork Heritage Videos
Cork Community Media Hub will showcase a curated selection of heritage videos from their collection, which will feature in a new project called Cork’s Heritage on Film. This includes extracts from videos on some of Cork’s built heritage, such as Skiddy’s Almshouse; videos capturing urban and social heritage in areas such as Blackpool, Mahon, Bishopstown and Douglas; historic streets such as Shandon Street and Barrack Street; videos highlighting traditions such as the Cork stonemasons and videos showing Cork’s natural heritage such as the River Bride.
There will also be a talk on the process of digitising and preserving video content and some information on the upcoming website which will feature the full versions of these heritage videos.
