20 August, 12:45pm - 1:15pm

  • The Shaw Room, Carlow Central Library
  • Tullow Street, Carlow
  • R93 K126
  • Co. Carlow

The Kehoe Papers are a significant collection of 18th and 19th century records of Carlow. They document the operation of justice in the county, and include calendars of prisoners committed to Carlow Gaol, as well as records related to the operation of the Gaol. There are several records of significant genealogical value, including lists of thousands of names from the early 19th century.

This talk will outline the ongoing project to preserve, catalogue and make the collection accessible for research in 2027.

The project is made possible through the support of the Heritage Council's Ceangal programme, the Heritage Stewardship Fund, and Carlow County Council.
