‘DAILY LIFE IN 1805 WHEN ST MARY'S RECTORY & FARM BUILDINGS, BUNCLODY, WERE BUILT’.

Welcome to this 221 year old slate clad rectory, two floors over basement, with stable block, barn and farm yard leading to a one acre walled garden in a parkland setting. Please join Heritage Week 2026 in Bunclody for an historic tour at 11am on Friday 21st August (location Y21 CV 44) to imagine life 221 years ago, when St Mary’s Rectory, Farm Buildings & Walled Garden were built.

Hear news from 1805: Haydn & Beethoven were composing, Napolean & Nelson were fighting, William Wordsworth & Walter Scott were writing, William Turner & John Constable were painting. Just seven years after the 1798 Rebellion, we can imagine the conversations of the time, see the styles of dressing, discuss the food being eaten, and the occupations and general way society was organised. Marquee on the lawn will serve refreshments, and local history books will be for sale.
