Join us at the GPO Museum as we celebrate the women who changed history and championed peace on our island from 1916 to the present day.
On this specially created tour you will meet the women who gave their all to create a new future on the island, stretching from the 1916 rising to the pivotal role of women in the peace process of Northern Ireland. This tour fuses together our popular Rebel Women Tour and the exceptional Peace Heroines exhibition to demonstrate the history of women from both traditions on our island, and how they worked together to ensure peace on the island. This tour will shine a light on the women who have shaped culture, society, and politics over the past 100 years. Learn about the Suffrage, Labour and Political movements, the Cultural Revival and the women involved in them. Uncover the changing role of women and their place in society, and the trajectory that this takes over the course of the twentieth century.
Booking is essential, as availability is limited. This specially researched tour will last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes and patrons are welcome to enjoy our exhibition at their own leisure after the tour.
Please note that this tour may not be suitable for children under the age of 12.
