Caoimhe Rambling House

Rambling House at Roscrea Courthouse

19 August, 7pm - 10pm

  • Roscrea Courthouse
  • Gaol Road, Roscrea
  • E53TD51
  • Co. Tipperary

Having held our inaugural Rambling House during National Heritage Week in 2016, this event has grown from strength to strength and epitomizes the best of our Irish cultural heritage. Long before radios or TVs, folks would gather in a designated house to reminisce about times past, share news, sing a few songs and tell a few yarns. It didn’t matter if you couldn’t read or write, all you needed was a good ear for stories, songs and tunes for them to be passed down from one generation to the next. No recordings, no written notes or lyrics, oral history at its finest. At these rambling houses, no invite was needed and no one was turned away.

Roscrea Heritage society invites you to step back in time and Join Fear an Tí Séamus Moloughney for what promises to be a fantastic evening of music, song and storytelling.

Although this event is free of charge, donations on the night to Age Friendly Roscrea would be greatly appreciated.
Light refreshments will be served.
