Purser 100 - Celebrating the centenary of the publication of the classical inscriptions of Shanganagh Castle

Join Dr Alexander Thein for a lecture celebrating the centenary of the publication of Louis C. Purser's 'Classical Inscriptions at Shanganagh Castle'. Purser's catalogue records fascinating details about the collection of antiquities which had been originally installed in Shanganagh Castle by its former owner, Sir George Cockburn in the previous century. Cockburn's collection was acquired by UCD Classical Museum in 1936. The museum will be open immediately after Dr Thein's talk for anyone who wishes to view the inscriptions.
