Protecting our Heritage - Borris Lacemaker's 10th Anniversary

Come and join Borris Lacemakers on Borris Village Green on Friday 21st August for a celebration of their 10th year of learning, reviving and promoting the craft of Borris Lace. This National Heritage Week and August Craft Month event will run from 10am to 2pm and will coincide with Market Day in Borris. To mark the occasion we will be unveiling a specially designed Borris Lace seat kindly sponsored by Keenan’s Alltech, Borris.

View beautiful samples of Borris Lace, meet the Lacemakers and learn about this unique heritage craft, try your hand at some stitching. Entertainment by young local traditional musicians. All this, combined with fun activities for the children will make it a great family day out.

There is a contingency plan in case of bad weather, to hold the event in Borris Town Hall.

There is wheechair access via the gate at the top or the Village Green near the main gates of Borris House. This is onto a grassy surface of the Green.
