Prenuptial Politics at the Brontë Parsonage at Haworth
Kildare premiere of the film Prenuptial Politics at the Brontë Parsonage at Haworth. Film maker Dr. Maebh O'Regan shows her new film exploring the dramatic love story of Charlotte Brontë and Arthur Bell Nicholls. Charlotte and her suitor were forced, by an enraged father, to sign a prenuptial agreement, Charlotte's Marriage Settlement. This document still remains at the Brontë Parsonage Museum, allowing Dr. O'Regan and curator Dr. Ann Dinsdale to explore its contents and the reasons behind it's creation. A Q & A session follows.
