Plover Lovers! The Year of the Ringed Plover in Maharees

From award-winning creative ideas from local students to inter-community and local community monitoring, recording and reporting, to significant behaviour change from beach users - all supported by interventions on the ground by state agencies like the Breeding Waders EIP and NPWS. The event will feature the Breeding Waders EIP Officer for Kerry, Sarah Barry; the Mean Scoil Nua an Leithriuigh Go Wild team's Eco-Unesco Senior Biodiversity Award and Senior Overall Award-winning presentation on Ringed Plovers; the Ringed Plover Children's Activity Workbook and Colouring Competition; our local primary school children's Ringed Plover Film making story and the Maharees Conservation Ringed Plover survey findings and monitoring ups and downs! Light treats and refreshments will be served. This event is supported by the River Basin Management Service for Water Heritage Day
