Looking at Lichens: Display and Film

Find out about lichens - a unique life form. Did you know that West Cork is the best place in Europe to see lichens? Visit Bantry Library to see a display cabinet showing local lichens with photos and descriptions and a screen with more photos and short film on Learning to Love Lichens.

This exhibition commemorates leading Irish lichenologist, Paul Whelan, who contributed to many Ellen Hutchins Festivals and was author of the Festival’s publication on Oceanic Lichens, and sadly died last December.
