Join us on Saturday, August 16th, 2025, at 10:30 AM for a guided walk through one of Ireland’s most remarkable natural areas. Meeting at the Kinnitty Looped Walks Trailhead, we’ll set off on foot to explore the Camcor-Forelacka Woodland Reserve — a rare example of ancient riparian native woodland and a vital part of Ireland’s ecological heritage.

Along the looped route, we’ll walk beneath the old-growth canopy of hawthorn and hazel trees, observe unique tufa spring formations, and visit the small river islets scattered along our wild stretch of the Camcor River. The route is rich in biodiversity and offers a chance to learn about native habitats and conservation efforts.

After completing the loop, we’ll return to the carpark for a relaxing picnic lunch with tea and coffee provided.

This free, family-friendly event is open to all nature enthusiasts, though please note the trail includes uneven terrain and is not suitable for buggies. Wellies are essential for completing the full loop. We hope you’ll join us to connect with nature and support Ireland’s natural heritage.
