Oral History Network Ireland's free Heritage Week event 2026!
Electrifying Oral History & Heritage with a 'Bring and Tell'.
Come to the Oral History Network of Ireland (OHNI) heritage event to find out about Dr Sorcha O' Brien's Electric Irish Homes Project which features oral histories and cultural heritage pertaining to how Irish homes and housework were changed by rural electrification in the 1950s and 1960s.
You are also very welcome to bring along to this event a kitchen tool, implement or appliance, a product or a treasured toy (or a photograph of such) that you have in your possession and that help to tell the stories of our home lives, home based work and activities as they were in the past.
We will have opportunity to chat about these and our team will photograph what you bring and record a short account about it with your permission. What you bring along and can tell us about is part of our cultural heritage that is at risk but together we can respond with care and attention.
Light lunch provided.
