Donagh ancient church ruins and graveyard
Assembling at the Community Centre in Glaslough village at 2pm, it is planned to set out for Donagh ancient church and graveyard on a trail to test your knowledge of this very early Christian foundation. Before setting off from the Community Centre, you will be given a brief historical overview of this important early Christian landmark. You will then be invited to participate in a fun ‘treasure hunt’ style of exploration based on significant points of importance associated with the graveyard. Next, you will be presented with a sheet containing questions relating to the site. To solve all the questions, it will require a visit to the graveyard. This has been spearheaded by 3 local Leaving Cert/3rd level students. Their involvement in this project indicates the keen interest and regard they have for their local heritage.

The trek to the graveyard can be made by cycling from the village (a selection of bikes being supplied). For those wishing to make the short distance by their own mode of transport, it is important to note that there is a very limited parking facility at the site, if driving by car.

The journey by cycling takes about 5 minutes. Walking time is about 30 minutes.
