New Lights

Griese Youth Theatre has acquired the historic Picture House in Ballitore. The actor Gabriel Byrne saw his first films as a child in the cinema in Ballitore and is a regular visitor and now patron of the group.

Following our engagement with two artists who carried out research and exploratory drawings of the building. With a view to gathering material which will form part of the vision for the building and in particular capture the voices of the young drama members, many of whom are from the village and unaware of the rich heritage.

For this event heritage comes to life through a captivating slideshow, featuring photos captured on film by @pearl_phelan and inspirational drawings by GYT members and @emilyrainsford.art.
