Nature After Dark : Bat Walk & Talk at Turbet Island

Did you know Turbet Island comes alive only after the sun goes down?
As darkness falls over the River Erne, a secret world awakens. This Water Heritage Day, discover the extraordinary night hunters sharing our home, starting at 7pm in Belturbet Townhall (Civic Centre) with an eye-opening talk by a Bat Conservation Ireland expert. Afterward, we will venture out into the dusk for a magical 1.5km walk from The Diamond and around Turbet Island. Join us as we use bat detectors to unlock the mysteries of our local nocturnal wildlife thriving in the shadows. It is a perfect adventure for the whole family, so wrap up warm, wear sturdy shoes, and join us!

Route: 1.5 km outdoor evening walk from The Diamond, Belturbet down to the river and around Turbet Island. Terrain: Gravel paths. May be dark/low visibility. Requirements: Dress for the weather. Sturdy footwear and small torches (flashlights) highly recommended.
