To mark National Heritage Week, Music Network is delighted to present a very special concert by acclaimed musician and composer Patrick stefan at Ionad Cultúrtha, Baile Mhúirne.
Patrick stefan (guitar/vocals) will be joined by Jayne Pomplas (fiddle) and Jason McNamara (percussion) for this unique performance, which will feature music composed by Patrick stefan during his 2024 residency including settings of texts by John B. Keane and Barbara Derbyshire. In addition, there will be a world premiere of a new Music Network commission—an Irish language song, inspired by Baile Mhúirne and its rich cultural heritage.
Appointed Musician-in-Residence in 2024 by Music Network and St. John’s Theatre and Arts Centre, Listowel, Patrick was the first artist to take part in a residency specifically designed for a professional musician who is Autistic/person with Autism. In 2025, Music Network, in partnership with Ionad Cultúrtha, will launch the second edition of this important residency, which will take place in Baile Mhúirne during October and November.
