
Moths and Butterfly Identification Workshop
To celebrate National Heritage Week, Clare County Council's Biodiversity Officer with the support of the Heritage Council have organised a Moths and Butterfly Identification workshop with renowned butterfly expert Jesmond Harding on Saturday, 22nd of August at 10:30am. This free event will consist of an indoor workshop held at the Michael Cusack Heritage Centre in Carran (Eircode: V95XT95) where Jesmond will cover the types of moths and butterflies that occur in Clare.
This will be followed by an outdoor session (weather depending) at a site manged by Butterfly Conservation Ireland for the rare butterfly species, Marsh Fritillary. We aim to finish up at 2:30pm.
The workshop will interest community groups, farmers and people interested in moths and butterflies.
Please bring appropriate footwear and a rain jacket for the outdoor session.
