
Mosses in Glengarriff village
A walk looking at the mosses growing on the walls and other surfaces in Glengarriff village. It will be chance to see the surprising variety of mosses that can be found in built-up areas and discuss why mosses are an important aspect of our biodiversity, not just in natural habitats but also in the urban spaces of our towns and villages. The walk will be led by Joanne Denyer (of the Irish Bryophyte Group and Denyer Ecology) with special guest Lil Stevens (Senior Curator, Bryophyte collections, Natural History Museum, London).
Hand lenses will be available so participants can appreciate the beauty of mosses up close.
