D'Arcy 300: In recognition of Patrick D'Arcy’s (1725–1779) contributions to mathematics and science during his time in Paris, Aoife and Clare invite you to an engaging and interactive mathematics show designed to inspire young minds. Through captivating puzzles, brain teasers, and mathematical curiosities - from the Middle Ages to modern science - you’ll experience the wonder and excitement of mathematics in a whole new way.

Aoife O'Brien and Clare Lundon are Mathematics Lecturers at Atlantic Technological University, Galway.

Aoife and Clare share a passion for making maths fun and exciting for learners of all ages. With years of experience in teaching and a love for creative, engaging approaches to maths, they will use logic, puzzles, and surprising tricks to showcase the wonders of mathematics. Both Aoife and Clare are dedicated to inspiring curiosity and confidence in maths. They are delighted to bring their Mathematical Show to young minds as part of this special Heritage Society event!

This event forms part of the 'D’Arcy 300' FREE events running Sunday, 24th from 2pm - 5pm. All are welcome. See Facebook for other events.

D’ARCY 300 is funded by Galway County Council Community Support Scheme 2025 and Kiltulla and District Vintage Club.

Join Kiltullagh Killimordaly Heritage Society as we celebrate D’Arcy 300, a weekend of events (22–24 August) to commemorate 300 years since the birth of Patrick D’Arcy (1725–1779) a renowned mathematician, scientist, and military man.
