Marlfield History & Nature Walk with Medieval Ink Workshop

A Hands of Heritage event by Tipperary Museum of Hidden History for Heritage Week 2026.
Join us for a stroll through time in beautiful Marlfield Village, where we will experience ink used by the monks in medieval time and find the ingredients to recreate the same as we walk around the village. Discover the stories, heritage and biodiversity that make this special place unique as we visit St Patrick's Church, with its historic chapel and medieval abbey carvings. Following the mindfulness-guided walk, led by Neil Dennehy, join artist Annie Hogg for a hands-on workshop to create traditional oak gall ink, the same ink used by medieval monks, using natural materials gathered from the landscape.
This free event is part of Hands of Heritage 2026: Tipperary Museum of Hidden History's award-winning programme celebrating traditional crafts, biodiversity and living heritage.
