Literary Tour of Bray Seafront

18 August, 7pm - 9pm

  • Outside the Boathouse Cafe Dock - southern end of the Bray promenade
  • Strand Road, Bray
  • Co. Wicklow

Over the years Bray has been both home and a holiday destination for many famous families and individuals with literary connections. Oscar Wilde, James Joyce, Sheridan Le Fanu, Arthur Conan Doyle and Anne Enright are among the most well known individuals who lived or holidayed in the town.

This guided walk will take place in the seafront area of the town and will dip into the Bray connections of these famous people, as well as their literature. The tour will also touch on some of the less well known literary and artistic Bray connections, plus a bit of local history thrown in for good measure.

The walk will commence outside The Boat House Coffee Dock at the southern end of the promenade and will finish at the Martello Terrace at the northern end.

If you are interested please send me an email at joeroebray@gmail.com, so we can keep an eye on numbers.

This walk is being supported by Bray Tidy Towns, who do much good work around Bray.
