Originally from Galway but now living in Fermoy, Kieran Jordan is a retired scientist whose interests include local and family history. He completed an MA in Local History at the University of Limerick and has been involved in local history publications in Cork and Galway. He has an interest in the interaction between social and military history and has edited a book on the British Army in Kilworth.

The British Army was in Fermoy from the early 1800s and in Kilworth from the 1890s. Of the many thousands of soldiers that passed through both locations, a few left personal accounts of their life in Fermoy. This presentation will focus on those personal reflections of Fermoy as seen through the eyes of soldiers.

Street parking available.
Restrooms available in Adair Hall.
