Lace on the Village Green

Borris Lacemakers invite you to join us on Borris Village Green on Friday August 22nd (Market day) for a fun celebration of Borris Lace. Lace on the Village Green will be a fun event for all the family.
View beautiful samples of this unique Carlow craft and 'Meet the Makers'. You will have an opportunity to 'Try a Stitch', with direction from our skilled lacemakers. Borris Lace themed activities for the children. Borris Lace designs are based on natural shapes mirroring the beautiful natural surroundings of the Blackstairs Mountains.
The Lacemakers will be decked out in their lace collars and clothing for the occasion. An opportunity to show off your own lace!
Borris Lacemakers wish to thank Carlow County Council for supporting this event. Lace on the Village Green is funded by Carlow Arts Office under the Arts Acts Acts Grant 2025.

The Village Green is opposite O'Sheas Centra, Main Street, Borris. The event is wheelchair accessible, going in the gate at the top, onto a cut grass surface.
Friday is Market Day in Borris and Plúr bakery at Joyce's Pub will be serving coffee/tea and their delicious artisan pasteries. An opportunity also, to buy local produce at the various market stalls.
