
Lúnasa Gathering
Join Keep Her Lit in magical Kells, Co. Kilkenny on August 16th to celebrate Lúnasa and the harvest season through dancing, tunes, walks and song. Keep Her Lit welcomes one and all to a series of creative community events and workshops that celebrate our natural and cultural heritage, taking place in the picturesque village of Kells, Co. Kilkenny.
Programme Includes:
● 11AM-1PM Living Threads: Kings River Walk
Guided by Maura Brennan, this workshop explores the relationship between landscapes and rivers and the interconnecting thread of living things. €5
● 1PM-2PM Trad Picnic with Len Collective
Join the Len Collective for a set of traditional Irish music, singing and dancing for all the family. €15/€5
● 3.30PM-5PM Set Dancing & Dabke Dancing Workshop
This workshop will bring together dancing traditions from Palestine and Ireland and will include a set dancing lesson and a dabke lesson. It is open to all levels and will be delivered in a lively and communal learning atmosphere. €5
● 5.30PM-6.30PM Community Céilí with Louise O'Connor & the Len Collective
Community céilí open to all! Louise will be calling the sets with music by The Len Collective. Join us for an evening of craic agus damhsa in Kells Community Hall! Open to complete beginners, improvers and experienced dancers of all ages. €5
● 7PM-9PM Traditional Music Session
Traditional music session featuring local and visiting musicians will take place in the Motte & Bailey. Free event. All are welcome.
