This is an opportunity for all those interested in protecting the River Tolka as a resource to come together. It will be a family friendly afternoon, including a tour of the East Wall Water Sports Centre which is situated on the mouth of the Tolka. As well, we will have a number of short talks by experts about what we can do to preserve the biodiversity of the Tolka and how we can improve its water quality.
Our guest speakers include:
ÉANNA GALLAGHER is Community Water Officer with the Local Authorities Waters Programme (LAWPRO);
TOBY O’MAHONY-ADAMS is the founder of Treasure the Tolka – a local volunteer group dedicated to restoring the River Tolka's natural beauty; and LAURA RIBERO is a marine and freshwater ecologist and biologist, working at Dublin City University as postdoctoral researcher.
