In Quaker Light
In Quaker Light is an outdoor visual art piece created by Clonmel Tidy Towns for Heritage Week 2026, presented at night in Clonmel's Quaker Cemetery.
Light, memory and history — a night projection for Heritage Week 2026
The Quaker families buried here built many of Clonmel's great houses and mills. Their values — simplicity, community, integrity, equality — shaped not just their own lives but the fabric of the town. This piece draws on archive imagery, headstone inscriptions, and the living records of the community to tell their story through light projected onto handmade textiles.
A quiet, contemplative 15–20 minute experience in a remarkable place.
This project has been funded by The Heritage Council.
