The National Stud is a thoroughbred horse breeding facility in Tully, County Kildare, established in 1946 under the National Stud Act, 1945.
In his talk Dr Declan Monaghan will examine the history of the Thoroughbred horse breeding operation during the period 1900 to 2025 . The talk will touch on the political, cultural, and social dimensions of horse breeding/racing leading to the development of the Irish National Stud that we know today.
Refreshments will be provided after the talk concludes.
