Heritage to Hold on to

'Heritage to Hold on to' is a window display in the Fáilte Ireland Tourist Information Centre in Wicklow Town. Drawing on the theme of Heritage at Risk we have created a display with a range of books borrowed from Bridge Street Books in Wicklow Town. The selection of books were chosen as they relate to aspects of Irish heritage that are in danger of being lost, namely; our connection with the outdoors, our knowledge of our locality and our connection to the Irish language. The book display intends to convey that, yes, these pieces of Ireland are at risk but they are certainly not gone yet. We can still admire the beauty of our landscape, walk through the Wicklow mountains, learn about the places we live in, or use our cúpla focal when we can.
