Heritage House Talks: Abbeyleix to America, New Museum Artefacts & The Irish White Cross

For Heritage Week 2026, Abbeyleix Heritage House in collaboration with Abbeyleix & District Historical Society, is hosting a series of talks on the people, stories, and traditions that shaped Abbeyleix and its surrounds. These talks take place over three evenings; Monday 17th, Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th of August, covering a variety of subjects related to the town of Abbeyleix and its surrounds.

TALK 1: ‘Launt Thompson: Abbeyleix to America’ - Andy Ring, presenter and local expert.

TALK 2: ‘New Museum Artefacts’ - Heather Crean, Abbeyleix Heritage House Research Officer.

TALK 3: ‘The Irish White Cross’ - Michael Lynch, historian.
