For Heritage Week 2026, Abbeyleix Heritage House in collaboration with Abbeyleix & District Historical Society, is hosting a series of talks on the people, stories, and traditions that shaped Abbeyleix and its surrounds. These talks take place over three evenings; Monday 17th, Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th of August, covering a variety of subjects related to the town of Abbeyleix and its surrounds.

TALK 1: ‘Abbeyleix: The Planned Town’ - Brian Maher, town planner and presenter.
TALK 2: ‘United Irishwomen (Irish Countrywomen’s Association) and Abbeyleix — Heritage at Risk’ – Regina Dunne, Historian & Tourism Strategy Manager.
