Heritage at Risk - Legends of the Lakes Boat Trip

Step aboard for a serene and story-filled journey across the ancient waters of Lough Oughter to one of Ireland’s most photographed and Cavan’s most iconic castle. This guided boat tour explores the history, folklore, and strategic significance of Clough Oughter Castle – built on crannog foundations and steeped in tales of clan conflict, resilience and rebellion. Along the way, we’ll discover a wetlands landscape, local wildlife, and how Ireland’s waterways once shaped travel, defense and daily life.
